Acupressure is an ancient traditional heeling art developed over 5000 years ago and is based on the core principle that there is vital energy or a life force flowing through one's body and mind along pathways called meridians. Primarily there are 365 acupressure points in the human body, comprising the 12 major meridian pathways or energy lines connecting to the network of organs, organizing a system of communication throughout the body which is crucial for the wellness of the anatomy.

According to the theory, when one of the meridian is blocked or out of balance, illness can occur and thus acupressure is thought to assist and restore the balance to the body's channel of energy and regulate opposing forces of negative energy and positive energy.

Acupressure is to apply pressure to acupoints on the body's meridian. When the acupressure points are stimulated, they release muscular tension, promotes circulation of blood, detoxify the body and tone the back muscles. Some proponents claim acupressure not only treats the energy fields of the body but also benefits in chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic muscular pain, mental stress, trauma, emotional imbalance and many more.
